Information On bidding for hotels.com

bidding for hotels.comTravellers seek out hotels. Its part of the travelling deal, but you shouldn't have to tolerate unnacceptable service . You can use this advice to get the best out of your hotel stay.

1. Never take a room in the vicinity of an elevator, or anywhere near an ice maker, or any other kind of vending machine. It may seem fine before you go to bed. However, as you lie in the dark you will find it impossible to ignore the movements and become aware of the smallest noises all the way until morning.

***** 5 star hotels - simply sumptuous luxury.

**** 4 star hotels - still quite magnificent.

*** 3 star hotels - probably the quality of hotel most of us use.

** 2 star hotels - still acceptable, but with less frills.

* 1 star hotels - the economy range.

2. If you cannot get a room that's not close to annoying sounbds, keep in mind to pack a pair of earplugs prior to starting out. It's possible to get by by shoving tissue paper within your ears, but a proper pair of earplugs will work much better and give a more natural feeling, providing you with a vastly better nights sleep.

3. Take a close look at the alarm clock in your room to create sure it has been turned off. Every so often former guests who have a wierd idea of what's funny set the alarm clock in the hotel room to an unforgiveably early hour for a practical joke. It may seem funny to them at the time, but I'll bet that when it rings at 5am, you won't laugh when you wake up with pitch darkness all around in an unfamiliar place with an alarm clock ringing loudly!

4. Before you finally bed down, bear in mind the route from your bed to the toilet, and be clear that the route is not cluttered up with unnecessary things. Should you find the need to visit the bathroom later falling asleep again is often easy enough. However, you'll find it much more difficult if you injure your toes on the side of a shoe discarded between you and the toilet door.

5. Make a careful check that the drapes covering the windows are tightly shut. Bright sunlight in the morning focussing on your face through a gap in the drapes will bring you awake much faster than you really want to know. Of course, it's usually those last hours of sleep that stand superior. Don't upset those precious moments.

Of course, at the end of the day its your hotel experience, and you're free to make your own choices. However the tips I've outlined have kept me in good stead when I'm on the move and staying in hotel rooms, so why not try these tips.
