5. Make a careful check that the drapes of your room windows have no little gaps in them. A ray of sunshine penetrating your sweet dreams through a gap in the drapes will bring you awake much faster than you might believe. It's always the final moments of slumber that rank way above the rest. Be careful not to interfere with those precious moments.
On the other hand, let's bear in mind it's you that's booking the room, and you're free to make your own choices. But the tips I've outlined have kept me in good stead out on the road when hotels are a necessity, and with that in mind you could do worse than try them.
